This private cruise travels through the Laguana Madre. South Padre Island is home to large pods of Bottlenose Dolphins year around. There is no doubt that dolphins are one of the most exciting animals in the ocean along with our local Sea Turtles and jelly fish. Other wildlife includes Osprey, pelicans, and rosy cheek spoon bills. Learn about the history of South Padre Island, such as the extinct Karankawa Indian tribe, storms that the island endured, Queen Isabella Causeway, and the many lost treasures of ship wrecks.Â The vessel is a 26 ft Leisure Catamaran with a bimini cover for shade and a head ( bathroom ) aboard. Plenty of room for the whole family up to 6 passengers. This small group cruise ensures great wildlife encounters.

The guide was very nice and answered all questions. Unfortunately, it took us forever to find the dolphins. The biggest surprise was the size of the dolphins. They are very small (not normal size dolphins). It was explained that because they live in the small bay area, their growth is actually stunted. I would not have booked this trip, had I known. I lOVE using Viator and am rarely disapointed. Sadly this excurtion was disappointing and definitely not worth the money.

Would definitely recommend! Our tour guide s very knowledgeable with providing info about the area, finding dolphins and even giving restaurant recommendations. This was the highlight of our trip. We wish it was longer!

We spent our 30 anniversary on the dolphin tour. Brady was our captain and he was great. Very knowledgeable and new exactly where the dolphins were. We enjoyed our time and we got a lot of huge seashells on the island.

We had the most amazing experience on this tour. Our tour guide Brady was great and seeing the dolphins up close was incredible. I do plan on booking this trip again when we return to SPI.

Major fail with TripAdvisor/Viator/SPI Excursions! Booked a private boat tour so my daughter could have fun on a bot and see dolphins for her birthday. Arrived and it turns out our name didn’t make it into the system at SPI Excursions and the kid working the desk implied that it was my fault since I didn’t book directly with them. Another family came in for the same excursion we had booked and since they didn’t have any other “captains” available, we were told we’d have to come back tomorrow. Unfortunately it was our last day in SPI so that didn’t work for us. TripAdvisor and SPI Excursions need to get their act together. I’m sure it doesn’t matter to either company, but both have lost a customer today.
