Itinerary

Check in 1/2 hour before your lesson choice time. Perhaps call 24 hours before to touch base.
Your lesson will be approximately 1 1/2 hour long. Starting with a land lesson, you will practice on the land what you will do in the water. Meeting at our shop, which is on the main street Hanalei, you do your check in. We do shuttle you down the few blocks to Hanalei Bay which has different breaks along the Bay. After your lesson we shuttle you back to our shop and your vehicle. You will have discounts as returning students on repeat lessons and equipment rentals and any retail items.

Great instructor (Luca) and really chill/down to earth. I would recommend him to anyone taking first lessons or a nice ride with someone who knows what's going on.

We had an awesome day surfing with Kalina and Kale. This would our second visit to Hawaiian Surfing Adventures for a family private Surfing lesson and it was a blast. Everyone was up and surfing right away and Kalina and Kale were so helpful in making it an awesome experience for our whole family. We look forward to another lesson sometime soon!!

I was nervous but didn’t need to be. Kiara was awesome with my 13 year old. He loved it. Beautiful of course scenery…. And lots of little waves. It was a bit crowded for my liking…with a lot of beginners but she kept him safe and helped him find good waves. He was spent the rest of the day!

We had an excellent time surfing with this company. Luca was absolutely fantastic and all of our family enjoyed it. We successfully learned long boarding along the calm sandy beach. The waves were perfect and Lucas instruction were on point.

From start to finish my experience with Hawaiian Surfing Adventures was handled very efficiently. My instructor was Mitchell. After some brief lessons on the beach it was time to surf. I hadn't been on a surfboard in 45 years and for all intents and purposes I was a beginner. I was given a 10 foot or so soft top board. Much to my pleasant surprise I was able to stand up and ride the waves in. I think it helped a lot that I take yoga classes as many of the positions used for popping up and standing on the board are also used in yoga. Mitchell was my instructor. He grew up in Kauai and it was fun talking story with him while waiting for the next wave. Highly recommended.

Everything we were hoping for! We were nervous to try surfing for the first time but our experience was nothing but amazing. The view alone from the bay they take you to is UNREAL. It was a very easy morning, quick and fun! Shoutout to our instructor Luca, he made it fun and “carefree”(because let’s be real I fell a lot). We left our lesson though so happy to have done this awesome activity for our trip to Kauai!

Evan was a great instructor. This was our first time on surf boards and we were able to ride several waves throughout our lesson. Hanalei Bay is the perfect place to learn to surf. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Uncle Kenny and Luca. The entire experience was beyond what I expected. We inadvertently met Luca at breakfast and his laid back and local feel was great to see first thing in the morning and then SURPRISE he’s also out instructor for the day! This was my very first time surfing on a reef and in HI. This was also my spouses very first time on a surfboard ever. She stood up and road multiple waves today!! We both caught waves, we both had a great time, and we both are in love with this town and this island. Mahalo to all involved in today’s activities!

We had never surfed before booking this semi-private lesson with Hawaiian Surfing Adventures, and we were so glad we did. Definite highlight of our time on Kauai. Max was a great instructor, and the hour and a half lesson was a blast. Can’t wait to come back and do it again. Pricing very reasonable and easy to book.
